Stadsfeestzaal

Antwerp

Mission

In 2000, The ‘stadsfeestzaal’ of Antwerp, then over 100 years old, was almost completely destroyed by a fire. In the past, this unique building hosted among other things, art exhibitions, the Antwerp Antiques Fair, the Book Fair, the Motor Show and various parties,.

It was not until 2004 that this venue was given a new purpose. The ‘Stadsfeestzaal’ of Antwerp was transformed into a shopping centre with more than seven million visitors a year and a mix of about forty shops. Wíth the help of Group Jansen, of course. During the renovations, Group Jansen installed the acoustic ceilings in the main hall. Other interior finishing assignments soon followed.

Result

A prestigious shopping centre in the middle of the city.
Jansen Building Projects started the works in 2006. The initial assignment consisted in the  installation of  acoustic ceilings in the main hall and the sub-structures of the plaster moldings. This assignment was soon expanded. For instance, our strong people also installed the decorative moldings and took care of the complete finishing of the small hall, including the decorative covering of the escalators. In the final sprint to the opening date, we also took care of a number of decorative ceilings and partitioning walls. Even the giant champagne coupe that adorns the space in the roundabout is a strong Jansen achievement.
