A new building ánd a renovation job. That’s the best summary of our project for QRS in Berchem. We demolished the corner building of this office site and rebuilt it. For the building next door, we used our best renovation skills. We transformed the entire site into a Nearly Zero-Energy Building (NZEB 2021). And this in only 15 months. During the nearly zero-energy construction of these offices, we took into account several applications that support the NZEB-principle:
- An atrium on the inside of the building. In this way, all offices receive direct sunlight from all sides.
- Triple double laminated glazings. These windows contribute to a good insulation.
- Climate ceilings that provide cooling, heating, ventilation and lighting. In short: a healthy working environment.

Result
The part Group Jansen contributed to this NZEB office is a serious rock. As general contractor of this project, we were not only responsible for the demolition works, but we also took care of the interior finishing. Floorings, painting works, electricity works, etc. We did it all! Interesting fact: in the nearly zero-energy construction of these offices, we installed no less than 2.479 m² of activated comfort ceilings in islands. We also installed non-active panels in the corridors, providing lighting and an impressive aesthetic touch. Remarkable: QRS chose for black climate ceilings which, together with the chosen concrete look, emphasize the tough character of their NZEB office.
